Lower Omo Valley . Arba Minch Airport (7 Days)

Lower Omo Valley is undoubtedly one of the most unique places on earth. It is located in the Great Rift Valley in Ethiopia and offers a wide variety of indigenous tribal people and animals that inhabit it. The region is well known and famous for its culture and diversity.
The tribes that live in the Lower Omo Valley are believed to be among the most fascinating on the continent of Africa and around the world. Tribe Expedition Ethiopia offers off the beaten tracks and ecological camping to several towns and villages. When you visit the Lower Omo Valley you have the chance to come into contact with the following tribes: Arbore, Ari, Bena, Bodi, Bumi, Daasanech, Dorze, Hamer, Kara, Konso, Kwegu, Mursi, Tsemay, Suri and Turkana.
It is estimated that the Lower Omo Valley is home to over 200,000 tribal people. Among the ancient African tribes that live in the southern part of Ethiopia, there is a wide variety of wildlife as well. Some of the animals that you will find there are the bitis arietans (a venomous viper species), crocodiles and hippos. The two main national parks in Omo Valley are the Omo National Park and the Mago National Park which are home to the majority of the wildlife in the valley.

Day 2 Mursi Tribe & Bodi or Me'en Tribe

Mago National Park Safari & visit Mursi Tribe whose women are known for piercing their lower lip as well ear lobe and put circular shaped clay disks. Furthermore you'll visit Bodi or Me'en tribe that practice the unusual ritual of body fattening where young men gorge on cow's blood and milk in a bid to be crowned the fattest man. Day 3 Mursi - Turmi

Via Jinka, Key Afer, Alduba in to Dimeka, afternoon to Turmi visit Hamer Tribe in Lojera Village. O/n Lojera Village Camping

Day 4 Turmi - Omorate - Turmi

Excursion 75km to Omorate visit Dasaneech Tribe crossing the Omo River by small boat.Hamer Tribe searching for ceremonies & cultural-events, if possible Bull Jumping Ceremony, Wedding Ceremony, visits Schools & Pastoral Society. O/n Lojera Village Camping

Day 5 Turmi - Kara

65km via Savanna Plains in to Omo River to visit the Kara Tribe, who are considered masters of body decoration and paint their bodies with chalk paint often imitating the spotted plumage of a guinea fowl, nigh life with Kara Tribe... O/n Korcha Village Camping or Dus Village Camping

Day 6 Kara - Konso

North via Turmi in to Weito Valley visit Arbore Tribe at Gondoroba Village & afternoon exit Lower Omo Valley in to Karat-Konso. O/n Karat-Konso
